Beautiful hidden gem out in the country off an old dirt road. The lake on both sides is an amazing view! Have been coming here since I was a kid and now it's Michigan's newest State Park!!
Great place to walk or drive through, if you enjoy wildlife.
What a great out of the way park. At almost 1200 acres, it is a joint venture between the State of Michigan and Washtenaw county. At the time I found it, there was about 2.5 miles of "rails to trails" and at least another 2 miles of trails through the grass lands. The trails were better maintained by the state, both sides were fine. Nice place to get away, and see some wild life. For you dog owners, please keep them leased, and either pick up their poo, or have them poo off the trail. It is stinky and difficult to get dog poo out of hiking boot cleats.
A park on a secluded dirt road. Was able to park on the side of the road and take a couple of nature pics.
Almost didn't want to write this review because it is Washtenaw County's best kept secret right now...! Pristine views, waterfowl preserve, dogs allowed on the rail to trail State Park section, easily accessible parking lot, and a decent hiking loop through woods and old farm fields make this Washtenaw County's newest gem. Go visit! Hike and bring your binoculars!
